Ingredients

For the Patties:

  • 250g ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder (optional)

For Assembling:

  • 2 burger buns (toasted)

  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese (or American cheese)

  • Lettuce leaves

  • 2 tomato slices

  • 4 pickle slices

  • Onion rings (raw or grilled)

  • Ketchup, mustard, or mayo (as desired)

  • Butter for toasting buns

Instructions

1. Prepare the Patties

  • Divide ground beef into 2 equal parts and shape into round, flat patties.

  • Press the center slightly so they don't puff up when cooking.

  • Season both sides with salt, pepper, and optional spices.

2. Cook the Patties

  • Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat.

  • Place patties on the hot surface and cook for about 3-4 minutes on the first side.

  • Flip and cook another 2-3 minutes.

  • Add a slice of cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking. Cover with a lid to melt cheese.

3. Toast the Buns

  • Lightly butter the cut sides of the buns.

  • Toast on a pan until golden brown.

4. Assemble the Burger

  • Place lettuce on the bottom bun.

  • Add tomato slices, then the cheesy beef patty.

  • Top with pickles and onions.

  • Drizzle your favorite sauces.

  • Cover with the top bun.

Tips

  • Want extra juiciness? Add a small cube of butter inside the patty before cooking.

  • Double the cheese for a Double Cheese Burger.

  • For a spicy kick, add jalapeños or spicy sauce.
